What are neutrals? Generally, it’s black, white, gray, and shades of brown, but there are other colors that can function as a neutral as well depending on how nice they play with other colors. Basically, neutrals will match anything and everything. Where would we be in life without a little denim, am I right?

With the weather getting colder outside, I find myself wanting to wrap up in darker, neutral colors and soft fabrics and hibernate until winter. I can’t be the only one, right?
This year I have been excited to see some pretty saturated earth tones that have been rocking the runway as a neutral palette. Brown – which I think has been an overlooked neutral for a while – is making a major comeback with deeper, warmer hues like cognac and copper as well as yellower hues like camel and toffee. I’ve even seen some blues played up at neutrals.

When taken to a darker hue, you’d be surprised how well a mid-steel blue or navy will match everything and yet give your outfit a depth and air of mystery around it.
I know the saying is that diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but I think we could make an argument for neutrals. They’re forever stylish, chic, and flexible and can make any outfit look timeless and effortless. I love those “I just threw this on” looks that leave people thinking that you are always put together.
